ROAD ISSUES

Keeping the roads clear and open

The roads must not be obstructed in terms of the Highways Act and this includes members’ frontages/verges. Welcomes Road is a designated footpath (No 157) as well as a public highway, and as such is shared by horse riders, cyclists, walkers with dogs and children as well as the usual vehicular traffic. Drivers are expected to drive with extra care and consideration for all these other road users.

Occasional road closures

Sometimes closures can't be helped due to maintenance tree or road work being carried out. We will alert residents as and when we are informed of these closures. Please ensure you are on the Whatsapp group and the email list to be kept up-to-date on closures and other relevant information.

Nuisance Parking

Parking on Uplands and Welcomes Road is prohibited. Unfortunately there are an increasing number of abandoned and unroadworthy cars parked on the roads which the committee are in the process of getting removed. If you own one of the vehicles that have been left on the road please move it on to your property or you risk having it towed away. If you have any information about any of these vehicles please do get in touch.
